I have been celabate for over 11 years. I have learned alot because of this but I feel I still have questions. Where is my Souls mate? And when is the right time to be or not to be with her.

Re: What are Kuan Yins Teachings on Celabacy?
Wed, September 5, 2007 - 1:03 AMThe same as what is in the Vinaya Pitaka. However, it is not expected that you would be celibate, unless, having taken one day precepts or ordination vows -

one need not be ordained to take these precepts,
www.accesstoinsight.org/tipita...ex.html
The vinaya is for those whom are ordained sangha [monks and nuns] and is followed in all traditions of buddhism so far as I am aware.
when a buddhist takes refuge they receive up to five vows for life. Abstaining from killing, stealing, lying, intoxicants and sexual misconduct [rape, wrong objects ie, animals, relatives and so on]

Re: What are Kuan Yins Teachings on Celabacy?
Wed, November 28, 2007 - 10:58 AMBUDDHA
as in HA HA HA HA
I am a Buddha, a female. And it is good to have sex if that is right for you. It is good to not have sex if that is right for you. It is never good to have sex , even in a fantasy, if it is not good for any one of the parties. fantasies do effect the realities of the people you place within them.
It is not the sex which defiles us
but so many of the idiosynchrocies attatched to it.
For instance... attatchment.
Waiting for a soul mate displays attatcment to the thought that you need a soul mate.
I struggled with that same thought this morning, when I was still climbing the ladder to Buddhahood.
Blessings on your journeys...
It is good to Remember that Kuan Yin is here to uplift your spirit. She, in the historical sense, has remained a virgin through several lifetimes, passionately protecting her right to celibacy. (As far as I recall...please correct me if I'm mistaken.)
If you wish to better know Kuan Yin, it is good to recognize and meditate on this. However, the stories passed down also tell us of her choicelessness in the choosing of a sexual partner, and must be considered. My interpretation is that, historically, she was protective of "her" sexual practice.

Re: What are Kuan Yins Teachings on Celabacy?
Wed, November 28, 2007 - 5:37 PMThanks for your response this was written awhile ago. Unfortunatly sex is probably the least of my worries, as I am still under a much harder relationship, meaning I am traped, and can't see much of a solution but patience, but that dosn't seem to be the perfect choice and by perfect I mean good enough. I know my limits and I can't stop knowing them or not knowing them and or someone else knowing them etc.
Still Water

Re: What are Kuan Yins Teachings on Celabacy?
Thu, December 20, 2007 - 2:21 PMAhh.
Stagnant waters will create a psycho.
Are there tricks to allowing the stagnant waters to flow?
Yes.
Move some of the debris.
Possibly move a boulder.
Stagnant water will rot. All the purity will be blackened.
but, in the end,
Water recycles, it purifies, and it will shine once more like the silvery moon mid-dance.
Stagnant waters create that fantasy world that is so much like the Maya we are clouded over with at birth, keeping us from recalling our ancient memories and accumulating true wisdom.
Whatever boulders you can move
will move your waters.
Be ready to FLOW, though, unless you're scared and secured in your little world of doom, untrusting?
I don't think that's you. I'll bet that now that this is written, and read, even if you don't want to move a boulder, you'll find yourself picking at one ... until it is gone or you need to remove it all, like a scab.
Blessings on your flow... -

Re: What are Kuan Yins Teachings on Celabacy?
Sat, May 16, 2009 - 1:14 AMNo Flow so what don't i know? Well actually there has been but seemingly except for the good political change, lots of hard work on my part and a possible business, The more specific problems in my life have not changed at all.
Thanks for the advice, I have obviously accomplished something but the isolation and imprisoned & controlled feelings have not changed one bit in fact they are the same and maybe but I refuse to be overly pessimistic as best i can, but i worry still , that in some ways it is worse? I can still say it is perfect but my concern is where is the wiser word in my situation little happy flowers, while my suffering goes unnoticed year after year or the complaint that nobody seems to what to hear unless they are the ones spewing it on me or others.
More specific details posted on my Page but you have to be a friend to read most of my blog posts, or ask, if you care to share.
All Thank yous though for all that is and is good. Even in the complaint it is really good to counter balance with double positives.
But the ultimate Balance is in relation to the communities perfect realization of perfection shared and individual..etc.
i do the best i can.
Peace & Blessings
